From Mozambique to the Universidade Católica, and from Império to Multicare, Maria João Sales Luís’s journey intersects with some of the most significant moments in the recent history of insurance in Portugal.
She began working in the industry in 1982 and, over more than four decades, held positions of responsibility across life, workers’ compensation, motor and health insurance.
She was involved in the development of pioneering savings and retirement solutions, contributed to the modernisation of the personal injury compensation system and, at Multicare, promoted a more preventive and innovative approach to health insurance, one that was more closely aligned with people’s needs.
